Q: I`ve been searching graduate Masters in Social Work programs. Are there any online MSW programs accredited by New York State? If not can you take a program accredited in another state and bridge with courses that would be NYS accredited.

State Accreditation
New York is in the region of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, which is part of the Commission on Higher Education for the United States. So, you should look for schools that are accredited by this agency. It really doesn't matter what state your school is located in, as long as it is accredited by the regional accrediting agency associated with the Commission on Higher Education. There should be numerous online schools that are acceptable to schools in New York. The best thing to do is check with your local schools, and ask what schools they recognize and will accept transfer credits. Then you can choose the right school and be assured your credits will still count at a New York school.
